CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 22, 2017) – Charlotte-based Hendrick Automotive Group has purchased Scott Jaguar and relocated it to 6824 East Independence Blvd., next to the company’s existing Land Rover location. The two franchises have re-opened as the dual-branded Jaguar Land Rover Charlotte. A new, single-rooftop facility housing the dealership is scheduled to be open by 2020.

Hendrick Automotive Group now operates 29 franchises in the Charlotte area, 60 franchises in the state of North Carolina and 142 franchises throughout the United States. With the addition of its first Jaguar franchise, the company now sells 29 different nameplates.

Charlotte’s Independence Boulevard business corridor now includes 10 Hendrick Automotive Group franchises and the company’s Independence Center, which opened in November 2015 and houses information technology, training, business development, video production, accounting, a local pre-delivery inspection center and fully interactive meeting rooms. The area also includes the organization’s longtime corporate headquarters on Monroe Road.

“It’s a privilege to partner with Jaguar for the first time, especially here in our home market,” said Rick Hendrick, chairman of Hendrick Automotive Group. “Independence Boulevard and the surrounding communities are rapidly changing, and we’ve been excited to see the progress. It’s convenient for our customers coming from every direction and becoming more and more accessible. Our company will continue to invest in the area, and we know it will be a tremendous location for these two iconic brands.”

Jaguar Land Rover Charlotte features more 200 new and 40 pre-owned vehicles on site with access to more than 40,000 new and pre-owned vehicles at HendrickCars.com. The two franchises currently offer 28,000 square feet of total facility space on nearly 2.4 acres with 19 overall service bays. They provide numerous customer amenities including free Wi-Fi, refreshments, a coffee bar, service loaner vehicles and complimentary shuttle service to area businesses and attractions.

Jeff Johnson, formerly general manager of Land Rover Charlotte, has been named general manager of Jaguar Land Rover Charlotte. He reports to David Porter, Hendrick Automotive Group market area vice president.

“The Jaguar franchise has a terrific reputation in the Charlotte community,” Porter said. “Long-standing customers can be assured we’ll continue to provide the world class service they’ve come to expect and deserve. Like Hendrick Automotive Group, the Jaguar and Land Rover brands are focused on providing a premium dealership experience. We’re very enthusiastic about the current and future products both brands are offering, which gives customers a wide variety of options unique to the marketplace.”
