Hendrick Automotive Group News

Thanksgiving is a special holiday for Hendrick Automotive. Not only is it a time to spend with family and friends, but it’s also an opportunity for our teammates to donate and participate in helping provide traditional Thanksgiving meals to those less fortunate. Since the meal drive’s humble beginnings in 2001, Hendrick Automotive Group has been committed to expanding its Thanksgiving initiative, and this year’s results surpassed expectations.

Nearly 5,000 Hendrick Automotive Group teammates from dealerships, collisions centers and support offices in North Carolina and South Carolina donated, packed and helped distribute 5,100 Thanksgiving meals to feed 20,400 individuals dealing with hunger. With an original goal of 5,000 meals, the 2017 Hendrick Automotive Group meal drive was able to feed additional families this holiday season.

For this year’s drive, Hendrick Automotive Group partnered with seven different North Carolina and South Carolina food banks who helped our team transport, pack and distribute these traditional meals. Each traditional dinner included turkey, stuffing, corn, cranberry sauce, green beans, gravy, macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes and a pumpkin pie.

Since Thanksgiving 2001, Hendrick Automotive Group has hosted 24 holiday meal drivers (7 Easter; 17 Thanksgiving), which has provided 11,300 overall holiday meals and fed 45,200 people. The 2017 Easter and Thanksgiving meal drives provided 7,600 total meals and fed more than 30,400 people.

Hendrick Automotive Group is focused on serving the community, and is committed to continually improve and expand our holiday meal drives.
