CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 5, 2013 – Hendrick Automotive Group has opened a new FIAT dealership in Charleston, S.C. Rick Hendrick FIAT of North Charleston, located at 8355 Rivers Avenue, is the first FIAT store to open in the Charleston market. The dealership will offer will offer more than 100 FIAT’s on its 2.5-acre lot, representing the largest FIAT inventory in the state of South Carolina. “We’re excited to expand our vehicle offerings in Charleston,” said Tom Blocker, executive vice president at Hendrick Automotive Group. “FIAT is a unique vehicle and has proven to be very popular with our customers. We’ve seen the demand for small, fuel-efficient cars increase, and FIAT is meeting that demand.” Jeremy Jimenez will serve as the general manager for the new dealership. Jimenez began his career with Hendrick Automotive Group as a sales manager at Charleston’s Rick Hendrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram in 2008. He was promoted to general manager of the store in 2011 and will continue that role in addition to his new duties at Rick Hendrick FIAT of North Charleston. “FIAT is an automotive brand like no other. They refer to their dealerships as their studios,” said Jimenez. “Our team is passionate about the brand, and I’m excited for the Charleston market to experience this exciting product that offers style, technology and fuel efficiency, all in one.” In the United States, FIAT offers three trim-lines of the 500 model and plans to begin sales of the 500L, the brand’s first four-door model, in June. FIAT service will be available at the adjacent Rick Hendrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram dealership. Rick Hendrick FIAT of North Charleston is Hendrick Automotive Group’s 12th dealership and 14th automotive brand in the Charleston market. More than 900 people are employed by Hendrick Automotive Group in Charleston where more than 18,000 vehicles were sold by Hendrick-operated stores in 2012.
